Spring 2023 Course Details

Registration for our Spring 2023 online courses is officially open! This semester, we have two all-new courses, Health Science and Intro to Finance and Economics. Advanced Art

Instructor: Emona Ji

Past the point of basics? Want to refine your art skills? The course goes past the surface-level art classes taught in school and dives deeper into this elusive subject. In our advanced art course, students will be introduced to proper shading and contrasting for landscape pieces, tips for drawing bodies and portraits, and various contemporary artists. In a world where autocorrect and Grammarly are omnipresent, and texting is increasingly informal, students’ writing skills don't get nearly enough practice in everyday life. This course will teach kids vocabulary and grammar rules to improve their English writing and speaking. Intro to Finance and Economics

Intro to Health Science

Grade Level: 4th to 7th

Interested in the medical field? Striving to be a healthier person? If so, this course is perfect for you! You will learn all about the human body, nutrition, and the functions it goes through to make you, you! We'll incorporate crafty activities and make models of whatever body part we’re studying, like the brain. Not only will this allow students to explore the health field, the information presented in the brain unit will help students get exposed to material on the AP Psychology Exam. Math 1

Website Design

Interested in creating your own blog, or a new website? Learn how to set up your own website with this new Vern course! Utilizing HTML and CSS design, students will code their own websites, learning about how to structure and add various content. Web design is not only useful for blogging or business, but these skills can help kids learn the importance of organization and aesthetics, as well as good first impressions. Writing Green

Beginner Chess

Instructor: Jason Wang

Schedule: Every Wednesday from 6 PM to 7 PM CST

Grade Level: 4th to 7th

Chess is an exciting strategy game mimicking war formation and battle that has been shown to increase IQ and exercise the brain.
