Maddie Chen
Social Media Manager
Hi, I’m Maddie! I’m a rising junior at Germantown Friends in Philadelphia. Beyond Vern, I’m on my school’s debate and varsity field hockey teams. At school, I’m really interested in business and economics. I’ve been teaching at Vern since I was a freshman and have concentrated on tutoring physics. When I’m not focused on academic endeavors, I love hanging out with friends and waterskiing. I’m looking forward to connecting with you all!
Rohan Joshi
Pennsylvania Director
My name is Rohan Joshi, a rising senior at Methacton High School and have challenged myself academically by taking 7 AP courses throughout high school. Outside the classroom, I serve as the Head of Sales for MivraVra, a nonprofit organization, and have been a member of Vern Tutoring for the past year, where I’ve enjoyed helping students succeed. I’m also involved in Key Club and FBLA, and I participate in school sports including basketball and track & field.
Saisha Verma
International Director
Saisha is a rising junior at Shadow Creek High School. An all-A, AP student passionate about STEM, Saisha completed internships at the University of Houston and MD Anderson, and serves as a TA for the Museum of Natural Science. Her scientific work earned her NASA’s Innovator Award and winning titles in HOSA. She also serves as Treasurer for Mu Alpha Theta. Outside school, Saisha enjoys Taekwondo, reading, and spending time with her older sister, Prisha. See you in class! :)
Nusrat Hossain
Website Designer
Nusrat is a determined junior at Shadow Creek High School who maintains straight A's and has a passion for math and science. She has won first-place UIL trophies for editorial writing and a Gold Medal at the Houston Rodeo for her artwork. She also showcases her technical skills as Vern's current website designer. Outside of school, Nusrat enjoys drawing, painting, gaming, and spending time with her older brother. She looks forward to tutoring her students this semester!
Ayaan Rathod
Pennsylvania Chapter Director
Ayaan is a senior in Methacton Highschool. He is currently taking AP Calculus AB, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Government and Politics, AP Computer science A, and AP English Language. Beyond academics, Ayaan is also President of the Muslim Student Association Club, Social Media manager for Key Club, and works as a server for elderly residents at Shannondell. He is incredibly passionate for education and is very excited to share his love for STEM with others.
Emily Mei
Texas Chapter Director
Emily is a rising junior at Houston’s Kinkaid School, earning High Honor Roll and 5s on all AP exams. Passionate about math and education, she attended SUMaC and HSMC, and serves as Education Chair for her city's Youth Advisory Board. Additionally, Emily won a Scholastic Art & Writing National Silver Medal, multiple Gold Keys, and is a two-time Showstopper Dance National Champion. Outside of school, she enjoys painting, reading, and spending time with friends.
