Supporting Survivors:
Vern’s Work with Domestic Violence Shelters
A core part of Vern’s mission is using the power of community to uplift and support those in need. As part of our mission, our branches partner with several domestic violence agencies to bring hope, resources, and relief to victims and their families. Whether it’s through donating essential items, tutoring children in emergency shelters, raising awareness, or advocating for policy changes, we are dedicated to making a tangible difference.
This page highlights the work we’ve done—and continue to do—to create a safer, more compassionate world for survivors of domestic violence.

Vern’s Mentorship Program with the Laurel House
Guidance from older students serves as a powerful source of stability and hope for children navigating the challenges of domestic violence. Through our mentorship programs, Vern provides academic and social support to children in the Laurel House.
Over the past year, Vern directly tutored and supported over 30 kids at the Laurel House!

Vern’s DV Donation Drive
Over the past year, Vern collected 1,067 new and gently used children's books to donate to three domestic violence agencies. Since many families arrive at these shelters suddenly with few personal belongings, the donated books serve as a lasting resource for families in emergency shelters.
