At Vern, all of our classes are cost-free and sure to fit any student's educational needs. Below are brief introductions, sample lectures and/or curriculums, and times/dates for each of our available courses.

Math 1 (CLOSED)

Still a beginner? Time to build up the basics! As a 2nd to 4th grader, this is the time to get a strong understanding of the core skills needed for all mathematics. Does getting ahead of your math class sound like a goal of yours? If so, Math 2 is the class for you. 5th grade through 7th grade is right around when kids start to get competitive, and it's all too important not to fall behind. In this course, students will explore absolute value, inequalities, proportions, slope, pre-algebra, and much, much more! Introduction to Python Programming (CLOSED)

Are you the tech-savvy kid of your class? Interested in problem-solving and creating? Step into a world of code, full of opportunities and imagination in this Intro to Python Programming course! Python is a high-level, widespread coding language that is extremely useful to know and fun to play around with. Manipulating code, solving problems, trial and error, and of course, fun, is a huge part of this class! So, 4th to 7th-grade computer wizards, go ahead sign up today!

If you're a middle schooler who loves quick-paced mathematics, solving problems and winning awards, welcome to Competitive Math! Students will learn to utilize simple methods and tricks to solve the most challenging problems on middle school competitions such as the AMC 8, and they'll be winning prizes in no time. With friendly competitions, problem-solving sessions and more, Competitive Math will help you become the math whiz you've always wanted to be.

Come one, come all! Calling all young scientists! Ready to learn about outer space, magnets, weather and climate, mixtures and solutions, and more? Science 1 is waiting for you! Then I'd like to introduce and welcome you to the class where you can doodle away and be met with praise from the teacher rather than scolding!
